Juicing Lemons Without a Juicer

IMG_4943

Fresh squeezed citrus juices come in handy for many recipes, but it can be pretty troublesome to squeeze those juices by hand. For those of us living without the luxury of a juicer, making cocktails or entrees that call for freshly squeezed juice can be daunting – until now!!!!

I can’t remember where I learned this trick (let’s be real, it was probably on Chopped), but it changed my life: you can use a regular kitchen tongs to juice lemons, limes, oranges, and grapefruits!

Simply cut the fruit in half, place it between the arms of the tongs, and squeeze the bottom together. Voila! Fresh squeezed juice with very little effort.
